At 10pm today, Monday 25 October 2004, Al Mezan Center for Human Rights organized a meeting with 35 of the Palestinian victims of home demolitions in North Gaza area.
The meeting aimed at imploring the most immediate needs of the families whose homes had been demolished or damaged in North Gaza area, especially during the recent Israeli incursion.
This meeting precedes a Face-the-Public open meeting on the same issue, which is intended on Sunday 31 October 2004.
The Center's staff and the victims discussed the ways of coordination to lay the ground for best outcomes of the coming meeting, in which they will have the opportunity to meet with officials, including the Minister of Housing, the North Gaza Governor and an UNRWA official.
Dr.
Kamal Ash-Shrafi, member of the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC) and the head of Al Mezan's Board of Directors, attended the meeting and asserted the need for well coordinated activity between the Center and the victims.
