At approximately 9am on Wednesday 11 May 2011, medical sources at Abu Yousif An-Najjar Hospital announced the death of Mohammed Ramadan Sha'ban, 22. According to the initial police investigations, a bulldozer was removing a pile of sand near a tunnel when it ran over Sha'ban, who was sleeping in the vicinity of the Gaza-Egypt border. As a result, Sha'ban died. Sha'ban was from Beit Lahyia. He was sleeping in the Al Brazil neighborhood south of Rafah.
