At 18:00 on Friday, 25 August 2017, Israeli occupation forces based to the east of the separation fence tear-gassed and opened fire at tens of children and young adults who were protesting near the fence around the Shuhada cemetery in North Gaza. Different Palestinian factions called for a protest to show solidarity with Palestinians in Jerusalem. Two people, including one child, were injured. Al Mezan identified their names as follow: Majdi Aahed Shwaikh, 13, injured by a tear-gas bomb that struck his back, and Emaad Abdallah Al-Ghawanimah, 22, struck in his chest by a tear gas. They both were taken to the Indonesia  Hospital, where medical staff assessed their injuries as moderate. Others who suffered from inhaling tear-gas were also received medical help.
